User requirements form the very basis for a future hyperspectral satellite mission. As partner in a study on Hyperspectral Imaging Mission Concepts for the Next-Generation Copernicus Space Component, GAF has coordinated the consolidation and assessment of user requirements. This work has been performed with partners including DLR German Aerospace Agency and GFZ Geoforschungszentrum Potsdam and covered a comprehensive number of application domains. Starting from this the lead partner OHB could then develop different mission configurations and a baseline concept.
The work has been carried out in the frame of the HYPERNEXT study, led by OHB Bremen and is funded by and performed for ESA. A summary of the study results is scheduled to become available on the ESA website.
